Life is full of twists and turns—pandemics, big moves, shifting priorities. Change is scary, but embracing it can lead to unexpected joy. Back in 2022, I had a lot of fear, but when I built my greenhouse, so much shifted. It became my space to embrace the moment, grow (literally and figuratively), and rediscover my love for nature.
Each year, I’ve expanded—more garden beds, bigger harvests, and more ways to share the abundance with my community. My latest upgrade? A fourth seasonal harvest! That’s right—fresh salad greens year-round! I even let some go to seed, gifting me with beautiful edible flowers like rocket salad blooms. The funny part? Despite having endless salad greens, I’m not a big salad eater! But they make amazing veggie stock, and those little blossoms add the perfect pop of color to soups and charcuterie boards.
Now, as the greenhouse transitions away from winter crops—goodbye, greens, peppers, herbs, and onions—it’s time to prep for spring planting! Empty beds = endless possibilities. In just another week or so, I’ll be adding two more apple trees and a pawpaw tree to my growing fruit collection.

And the biggest win this season? February and March still bring in a steady harvest, thanks to my rotating turnips, kale, and collards growing snugly in a raised bed cold frame since December.
Gardening has become more than just a hobby—it’s my way of embracing change and celebrating life’s transitions. What’s growing in your world this season? 🌱✨
